Louisville, Ky. (March 17, 2022) – Today, Greater Louisville Inc. released the results of a comprehensive survey sent to all candidates running in upcoming local elections. More than 40 total major party candidates running for Mayor and 13 of the 26 seats of Louisville’s Metro Council were given the opportunity to respond to questions about top priorities and concerns of the business community.

As a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, GLI does not endorse or support candidates. However, candidate surveys help educate its 1,800 members on where each candidate stands on important business-related issues.

“As the primaries quickly approach, it is critical the business community has an apples-to-apples comparison of where each candidate stands on important economic and social issues,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of Greater Louisville. “We appreciate each candidate who took the time to respond to these questions with candor and look forward to working with newly elected leaders early next year.”

Questions in the survey touched on a variety of topics and top concerns of businesses, including:

• Plans to accelerate economic development
• Strategies to increase public safety and decrease violent crime
• Downtown revitalization plans
• Strategies to address rising homelessness
• Ways they will support increased development
• How they will support public education and workforce development
• Ways they will advance inclusion and racial equity
