GLI statement on advancement of legislation to expand KEES program

Yesterday, the Kentucky Senate voted to pass Senate Bill 163, which includes provisions to expand KEES eligibility to those with certain felony records. GLI president and CEO, Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, issued the following statement applauding the Senate:

“Greater Louisville Inc. applauds the Senate for passing Senate Bill 163 which will expand eligibility for the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) to Kentuckians with felony records. Expanding eligibility of the KEES program has been a long-time priority for GLI and will allow more individuals to access higher education and be contributing members of our workforce. We urge the House to quickly bring this legislation to final passage.”
