Greater Louisville Inc. president and CEO, Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, issued the following statement on Kentucky Senate Bill 1, which passed out of the Senate Education Committee on Thursday:

“Senate Bill 1 contains important education reforms that have been long-time GLI priorities and will give school superintendents hiring authority to match principals strengths and experience with their schools’ specific needs. Strong leadership in schools leads to better outcomes for students and will ultimately build a more well-rounded workforce for our region. We applaud the Senate Education Committee for advancing the legislation quickly and look forward to working with legislators to bring it across the finish line during the 2022 session.”
