Greater Louisville Inc. launches platform to house local resources for talent development, barrier removal

Louisville, Ky. (November 14, 2022) – Greater Louisville Inc. and its talent initiative, Live in Lou, have launched a new platform to consolidate and house local workforce and community resources for employers and job seekers. The Workforce Ecosystem Hub, made possible by funding from Ford Motor Company, lives on LiveinLou.com and will serve as a central location to help individuals and employers connect with resources to upskill or reskill themselves and our workforce.

The Workforce Ecosystem Hub showcases over 245 organizations who provide a range of services and resources to employees and employers. Organizations featured include higher education institutions, skills-based programming and training, apprenticeships and work-based learning, resources for startups and small businesses, financial and transportation assistance programs, and more. The site was created through partnerships and collaboration with KentuckianaWorks, Southern Indiana Works, and the University of Louisville.

“Our community has a number of amazing programs to help individuals learn new skills and advance in their careers, however the current structure is a confusing patchwork of individual programs that is overwhelming and difficult to navigate,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of GLI. “The Workforce Ecosystem Hub will create a single destination for individuals and companies to find resources to learn new skills, remove barriers that keep people from work, and ultimately create a stronger workforce here in Greater Louisville. Our goal is to make it easier than ever for people to learn new skills that lead to fulfilling and well-paying careers.”

The Workforce Ecosystem Hub is a living site that will be regularly updated with new resource providers and support services as initiatives are created. It is divided into two user-friendly tabs – one for job-seekers and one for employers – with resources tailored for each group. View the full site here, which includes a request form to be added to the list of resources and a link to Live in Lou’s job board, the region’s largest local-only job board.

“We want Louisville to be a community where anyone can thrive and advance in a career they love,” said Christine Tarquinio, GLI’s vice president and talent, workforce, and brand strategies. “This platform was many years in the making and creates a one-stop-shop for our region’s talent needs. We are proud to partner with other workforce providers in our region to simplify the process of learning new skills to grow in a career and stay in Greater Louisville.”

The launch of the Workforce Ecosystem Hub was a key priority of GLI’s NOW Louisville five-year strategic plan. As part of the talent pillar, the platform will help support talent attraction, retention, and development throughout the region.
