Employer based child care grant applications open

The Kentucky Division of Child Care has opened applications for the Business Partnership Matching Grant. This is an opportunity for employers that have considered offering child care as a benefit for their employees to receive matching funds of up to $100,000.

This grant is intended to counteract the reduction of child care options for working parents across the state. That need is especially great in Louisville, which has seen a nearly 10% reduction in available child care providers since the onset of the pandemic.

Workforce shortages continue to be an issue impacting businesses in all sectors and many employers are re-evaluating their benefits beyond salary to attract and retain workforce. The Business Partnership Matching grant is an opportunity for businesses to consider employer-sponsored child care as an added benefit and convenience for their own employees, while also expanding access to quality child care in our region.

GLI partnered with Metro United Way to host an information session last year with representatives from the Kentucky Division of Child Care. View the recording with details on the grant.

If your business is interested in applying for the Business Partnership Matching grant, the application is available here (just click on Department for Community Based Services).
