Greater Louisville Inc. takes business leaders to nation’s capital to advocate for newly released federal priorities
Washington, D.C. (July 17, 2025) – Coinciding with its annual DC Fly In presented by BrightSpring Health Services, Greater Louisville Inc. released its updated Federal Agenda. The 2025 Federal Agenda includes dozens of policy priorities related to business competitiveness, education and workforce development, energy and environment, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Top priorities include advocating for comprehensive reforms to the U.S immigration system, reducing tariffs to stabilize inflation, and funding for infrastructure projects. The agenda was created through months of feedback from businesses across Greater Louisville who participate in GLI’s Issue Advisory Committees, Public Policy Council, and Board of Directors.
“With so much activity happening in the nation’s capital every day, it is more important than ever to ensure the voice of the Greater Louisville business community is heard. Our 2025 Federal Agenda encompasses a wide breadth of policies that directly impact employers, employees, and GLI’s ability to drive population and economic growth,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc.
Earlier this week, a group of top Greater Louisville business leaders joined GLI staff in Washington D.C. for a two-day fly-in to meet with members of Congress representing the Greater Louisville region to push for many of the policies laid out in the 2025 Federal Agenda. Advocacy and conversations with Congress focused on three primary topics:
- Advocating for legal immigration to support talent pipelines, including discussions around the legal status of workers in the U.S. on CHNV Humanitarian Parole.
- Opposing additional tariffs that create uncertainty and raise costs for businesses.
- Advocating for consistency in federal funds and grants, including those for research and innovation.
