U.S. Chamber Awards GLI with 4-Star Accreditation
(Louisville, KY) – The United States Chamber of Commerce (USCOC) awarded Greater Louisville Inc. with 4-Star Accreditation for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community. GLI is honored to hold this prestigious accreditation.
“Business leaders are a critical voice in conversations about promoting economic growth and job creation in their communities.” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, U.S. Chamber vice president of Federation Relations and Institute for Organization Management. “Accreditation honors a chamber’s work to enhance the quality of life for its members and its region.”
Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, and technology. There are only 201 accredited chambers in the United States of approximately 7,000 chambers nationwide. GLI received compliments for its strategic planning, efforts to address the workforce needs of Greater Louisville, and perfect scores in technology, facilities, and communications.
“While the application process takes 6-9 months, the work that goes into achieving accreditation is done over several years. We are very pleased to see the work of GLI’s staff and volunteer leadership recognized with such a public distinction,” GLI Chief Operating Officer Sarah Davasher-Wisdom said.
