Greater Louisville Foundation Receives $10,000 Grant from Wells Fargo Foundation
(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – The Greater Louisville Foundation received a $10,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to be dedicated towards the GLI Workforce Inclusion & Education program to improve the workforce inclusion and education pipeline for underserved individuals in the Greater Louisville region.
The grant funds will be allocated towards workforce research, travel expenses and program materials to support business engagement in the Academies of Louisville in Jefferson County Public Schools.
“We are grateful to the Wells Fargo Foundation for investing in our efforts to improve college and career-readiness in our region,” Deana Epperly Karem, Vice President for Regional Economic Growth for GLI, said. “We will use this grant to further efforts to create the workforce of the future and ensure economic viability for people from all walks of life.”
Wells Fargo and the Wells Fargo Foundation provide monetary support, expertise, and volunteers to national and local nonprofit organizations and causes that align with the company’s business priorities, values, business expertise, and geographies. Last year, Wells Fargo’s corporate philanthropy totaled $286.5 million. The money went to more than 14,500 non-profits. The company is targeting giving $400 Million to charity in 2018.
