Evening of Entrepreneurship Preview
On Tuesday, June 26, EnterpriseCorp and presenting sponsor 5/3 Bank will host the 2018 EntepriseCorp Evening of Entrepreneurship. This annual event is the largest regular gathering of Louisville’s entrepreneurial community and serves to reflect on progress made in the past year, as well as to set forth challenges for the year ahead. EnterpriseCorp will present the annual State of Entrepreneurship in the Greater Louisville region and will announce the 2018 recipient of the EnterpriseCorp Award, recognizing the significant contributions of a local individual(s) to Greater Louisville’s startup community.
EnterpriseCorp is excited to feature nationally acclaimed entrepreneur investor, marketer, and author Diane Hessan as this year’s keynote speaker for the Evening of Entrepreneurship. A successful entrepreneur and CEO, Ms. Hessan is heavily involved in Boston’s thriving startup scene and has been named one of Boston’s most influential people. She is currently working on a variety of projects in the Boston tech ecosystem, and is engaged in a wide-ranging longitudinal study of American voter attitudes.
She is Chairman of C Space (formerly Communispace), where she was CEO and founder. C Space, “with a Blue Chip client list that would make a Madison Avenue giant jealous,” according to Advertising Age, is the leader in helping companies get insight and inspiration from their customers. Ms. Hessan led Communispace to 13 years of exponential growth before selling the company to Omnicom in 2011. The company now has over 500 employees and offices in over a dozen countries. She’ll share relevant stories of the trials, tribulations, pivots, and pitfalls along the way to scaling and growing this internationally successful business.
She is co-author of the book Customer-Centered Growth: Five Strategies for Building Competitive Advantage. The book, a Business Week best-seller, was published in 11 languages.
Ms. Hessan is the former CEO of the Startup Institute and has served on many boards, including Panera, Eastern Bank, Brightcove, Tufts University, CoachUp, Mass Challenge, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was a national finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year and received her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and her B.A. in Economics from Tufts University.
The EnterpriseCorp Evening of Entrepreneurship is from 5-7:30p.m. at C2 Event Space. The event is $35. More information and registration here: https://enterprisecorp.com/events/enterprisecorps-evening-of-entrepreneurship/
