Describe what your organization does in two sentences. We bring together businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and individuals to engage in the kinds of collaboration that changes lives, maximizing our community’s resources to advance opportunity and equity for all.

Who do you serve? We fight for the brighter future of Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham and Shelby counties in Kentucky and Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties in Indiana.

One fact you may not know about my organization is…  As you likely already know, Metro United Way has a long track record of maximizing the effect and value of dollars given in the non-profit and governmental services space by connecting people and needs. We achieve measurable results and efficiencies for the non-profit community – but what you might not know – some of this extends to the business community, too! We have resources for employees in need and we offer a way to connect to and track employee volunteer opportunities. Additionally, given our longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we have lots of resources to offer in this area, including our Racial Wealth Gap Simulation. This is an interactive tool that helps employees understand the connections among racial equity, hunger, poverty and wealth – a good first step for people unaware of structural inequality.

What sets your business apart from others in the way you attract and retain talent? We offer companies of all sizes easy ways to connect their employees to volunteerism and community give-back – things proven to increase employee satisfaction and retention.
