Ambassador Spotlight: Denise Traylor
Name: Denise Traylor
Title: Area Manager
Company: IWG Real Estate (Regus)
How long have you been a GLI Ambassador? 1 year, but I have had the privilege of working at GLI for 3 years from 2009-2012.
What is your favorite part about being a GLI Ambassador? I like being ‘connected’ to the people and resources that are the driving force behind growing our regional economy. Most people don’t realize how much GLI does for the community – they have their hands in just about everything from advocacy to business attraction.
A fun fact about me is… My first sales job was selling bibles door to door during the summer to put myself through college. It was definitely an eye opening experience and made everything else look relatively easy after that!
What is the best career advice you’ve received? When I was promoted at a young age to Sales Manager in a new market, my boss said “Never rush to judgement when you have only heard one side of the story. There are always at LEAST two sides, and you need to hear them all before you can make an educated decision.” Since I am a tad impulsive, I have leaned on this advice a lot over the years.
What does being a GLI investor mean to you? As a GLI Investor, I feel like I am on the inside of a great organization connecting the dots between business needs in the region. In my role with Regus, I often work with entrepreneurs, start-ups and businesses that are new to the area. I enjoy helping those clients find the resources they need, and if I don’t know where to send them I can turn to GLI for answers. Of course, I always recommend that they join GLI as a first step toward helping their business grow.
What is your favorite thing to do in Louisville? My favorite thing in the works now for Louisville is the Waterfront Botanical Gardens. I became a member very early even before ground was broken, and it’s been so wonderful to see the vision for this amazing urban botanical garden take shape. The gardens are destined to become a great attraction for our city, and will inspire and delight us all in years to come! Consider joining as a member or buying a brick to pave the way! www.waterfrontgardens.org.
What do you do to make greater Louisville GREATER! Companies like Regus serve as a launchpad for start-ups and small businesses by providing flexible, low cost and relatively risk-free office solutions. We are also a magnet for business attraction because large companies commonly use IWG and Regus for entry into new markets. Those companies that plant roots here with us will grow to provide more jobs and opportunities for Greater Louisville!
