Talk to us about taxes
Tis the season for tax reform.
Late last winter, we saw the first substantive changes to the federal tax code in more than a generation. Then, last spring, the Kentucky General Assembly enacted several reforms to the Commonwealth’s tax code, including a lowered corporate and individual income tax rate and an expansion of sales and use taxes, just to name a few.
The story of how these changes to Kentucky’s tax code will affect our regional economy is still unfolding, but we know at least two things for certain:
- Any changes to state tax policy will have a major impact on the business community.
- Tax reform is rarely ever a done deal and almost always requires multiple passes.
That’s why GLI has been actively laying the groundwork to tweak aspects of this year’s reforms and to continue improving the competitiveness of our tax code during the 2019 session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
To help us in this process, we want to hear from you. Fill out this brief, five-question survey and tell us how Kentucky’s 2018 reforms impact your business and what changes you would like to see next year.
