GLI urges establishment of COVID-19 hotline for Kentucky businesses & industry
GLI is urging Governor Andy Beshear to establish a hotline for Kentucky businesses and industries impacted by recent executive orders related to the COVID-19 pandemic. “The creation of a business and industry hotline, staffed with trained experts, would be of immense value to employers, small businesses, and business organizations like GLI and would send a powerful message to the business community as a whole,” said GLI President & CEO Sarah Davasher-Wisdom in a letter to Governor Beshear.
A unique hotline for the business community could help Kentucky employers navigate recent executive orders and get the support they to need to be in compliance and keep their businesses going throughout this crisis. The hotline could be used to respond to questions on issues such as life-sustaining services and businesses, unemployment insurance, and proper procedures for keeping employees safe. GLI has been working diligently to assist employers in navigating major changes to public policy and governmental orders. A business and industry hotline could add another layer of assistance for the business community.
Indiana created a business and industry hotline following Governor Holcomb’s “Stay-at-Home” order earlier this week. Indiana’s Critical Industries Hotline will help provide guidance for businesses and industries. This center, reachable by calling 877-820-0890 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, is for business and industry questions only.
