Greater Louisville Inc. president and CEO, Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, released the following statement after the Kentucky General Assembly passed House Bill 200 to address the ongoing healthcare worker shortage:

“The passing of House Bill 200 signifies an important step in addressing the critical shortage of workers in the healthcare industries across Kentucky. The newly established Kentucky Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund will remove barriers to high-quality careers in the healthcare field and help employers fill their growing workforce needs. The legislation also creates partnerships between the state, employers, and higher education to quickly train and upskill healthcare professionals. GLI applauds the General Assembly for passing this legislation and encourages Governor Beshear to swiftly sign it into law. We are optimistic that the legislature will continue pursuing solutions to workforce shortages across industries.”
