Families First Coronavirus Response Act set to expire

Near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which, among other things, implemented new paid sick leave and paid leave requirements for businesses. Since April 2, many businesses (with exceptions) have been required to fully comply with the provisions of the Act. The FFCRA, however, is set to expire on December 31, 2020. Upon its expiration, the Act’s provisions will no longer be in effect. Read more about the FFCRA below. GLI will actively monitor for potential extensions or efforts to reinstate the Act in a future legislative proposal.
