  • The Hunger Games: The Exhibition

    The Hunger Games: The Exhibition invites visitors to step inside and explore the world of Panem as created in the films. More than one thousand authentic costumes and props, high-tech and hands-on interactives, and detailed set recreations reveal the amazing artistry and technology that brought the incredible story to life. Visitors follow Katniss Everdeen's inspirational journey, from her humble beginnings in District 12 to her emergence as the Mockingjay. The exhibition features seven galleries including District 12, Tribute Train, The Capitol, Making the Games, District 13, Fan Gallery and Katniss’s Journey. Highlights include iconic costumes from the films, such as the Girl on Fire dress, the Mockingjay dress and the Mockingjay armor; key artifacts including the Mockingjay pin, Cinna's sketchbook and Katniss's bow; and interactives, including an exploratory map of Panem, a gamemaker's control table, and a stunt choreography interactive.

    Televised Championship Boxing is returning to Freedom Hall June 24th. This event will be during the “I Am Ali” festival and will include Evander Holyfield’s tribute to Ali that will kick off the broadcast. There will be an 10 card program with 3 live matches being shown on CBS Sports which has 60 million households. It will also stream to another 180 countries. The LIVE portion starts at 10:00pm and should end around 12:30am. The last fight will be a WBC Title fight.

    Homearama is an annual public event showcasing custom-built new homes that are fully furnished, decorated, landscaped and feature the latest in building trends, technology, and interior design. Visitors can tour the homes and meet the local builders, interior designers, and suppliers of the variety of home products featured. Homearama 2017 takes place July 15-30 at Poplar Woods, located in Oldham County. This year’s nine homes exude opulence and style with an average price of over $1 million. Whether you’re looking for design ideas for your current home or looking to build a new home, there’s something for everyone at Homearama! General Show Information Homearama at Poplar Woods runs July 15 – July 30. The tour is open weekdays 5 pm to 9:30 pm, Saturdays 10 am to 9:30 pm and Sundays 1 pm to 6 pm. Homearama has free Parking and a concession stand. Tickets are sold on site at the Homearama entrance tent. Tickets are $10 per person for a single day pass and $15 per person for a two-day pass. Children 12 and under are free with an adult. No pets allowed. Ticket gates close an hour and a half prior to closing time. Elizabeth has taken her career from growing up in Louisville to the national spotlight. She has been a driving force at a number of publications including House Beautiful, Southern Living, Woman's Day, and REAL SIMPLE. She also is the author of FLIP! for Decorating (Ballantine).
