FEATURE STORY
GLI Challenges You to "Give a Day"
GLI’s work in the community centers around making Louisville a home to innovation and imagination -- increasing human capital, driving job creation and entrepreneurship, maximizing global opportunities and inspiring business leadership engagement on issues that impact the competitiveness of our region.
That is why GLI is making a call to action for our business and community partners to sign on to make Louisville an even more compassionate city.
With a goal to set a world’s record for volunteering and public service, Mayor Greg Fischer has challenged the community to volunteer during this Give A Day week, April 15-22. The week of service helps launch this year’s Kentucky Derby Festival and coincides with National Volunteer Week.
There is a wide of range of service projects available for the seven-day stretch, from community gardening to donating blood. Groups from Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts to employee teams from leading, local corporations will all be in action.
Anyone wanting to get involved should go to the website:
www.mygiveaday.com
. There, individuals or groups can volunteer for a growing list of projects and needs submitted by local non-profit agencies, churches and other groups. Organizations needing volunteer help can also use the website to register their projects. People may also use the website to report their own community service.
Sign up today and join GLI in making Louisville one of the world’s most compassionate cities.
