High Impact companies to be honored in March

Join Greater Louisville Inc. and Louisville Metro Government on March 24 as the first businesses identified as part of the Mayor's High Impact Program are introduced to the public.

The Mayor's High Impact Program highlights growth businesses headquartered in Greater Louisville that significantly contribute to the local economy by generating substantial job and wealth creation. For more than a year, GLI and city leaders have interviewed local business leaders and compiled data to create the first High Impact "portfolio." Companies included in this portfolio will be announced at a March 24 breakfast at the Galt House Hotel & Suites.

High Impact companies receive support - through GLI and other resources - to ensure they can achieve their fast-growth objectives or, in the case of some portfolio businesses, their ability to enable such growth in other companies. Support is provided in the range of capital access, talent attraction, and business expansion to best practices sharing, CEO round table and networking events. This is the first endeavor to create a "peer community" among Louisville's growth business leaders.

"We are finding them, connecting with them and sitting with them shoulder to shoulder and going through everything that can help them grow their business," Mayor Jerry Abramson said.

In addition to Abramson, GLI president & CEO Steve Higdon and the Mayor's liaison for Entrepreneurship Kent Oyler will speak at the breakfast, which runs from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet company executives that are part of the High Impact Portfolio of local businesses.

Nextel Partners is sponsoring the breakfast.

The cost of the event is $25 per person in advance and $30 at the door. To register, call (502) 625-0072 or e-mail smoore@greaterlouisville.com.
