The basic aim of APPKI was to enhance the image of American Physicians of Pakistani descent and to promote
communication between themselves and the local professional community. The
other important goal was to help nourish and promote long lasting friendly
relationship between Pakistan
and the United States.
APPKI has introduced Pakistani culture to its American friends by organizing
many cultural events including Eid Day Parties, Pakistan Day Celebrations,
Charity Dinner and other cultural events that hosted several famous Pakistani
celebrities and artists.
Crane House,
The China Institute, Inc. opened in 1987 in the Old Louisville neighborhood
near the University
of Louisville. Its
focus on China
reflected the heritage of founder, Helen Lang,
who was inspired to share her expertise and interest in Chinese cooking,
history, and culture (the crane is an Asian symbol of longevity).
In 1996 the organization expanded its programming to include all of East Asia and the following year, Crane House moved to
its current location at 1244 South
Third Street.

Hispanic
Latino Business Council exist to create, advance and promote economic
opportunities for Hispanic/Latino Businesses and individuals in the Greater
Louisville Region.

India Community Foundation (ICF) is a
non-profit organization, established in 1968, with a mission to serve the
Indian community in the Louisville
and greater Kentukiana region. Promoting the Indian cultural heritage and
serving the cause of India,
and its people in this area, are the two important purposes of this Foundation.
To achieve this, it sponsors regular programs and cultural meets.
The Japan/America Society of Kentucky (JASK) is dedicated to
sustaining a favorable business and community
relationship between Japan and Kentucky by promoting cooperation and
mutual understanding. JASK organizes a
variety of business, cultural, educational and social programs, as well
as provide relevant information for business, professionals, schools,
families and others.

The
Jewish and Family & Career Services offers Multicultural
Services
to provide ALL immigrants with the skills and services they
need to achieve
financial independence. This includes career counseling,
microenterprising development, and financial responsibility.

Organization for Chinese American in Kentucky is a local chapter of a
national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political,
and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in the
United States.

Sister Cities of
Louisville (SCL) is a non-profit membership organization
dedicated to global
friendship,multicultural understanding, and economic growth by
developing
lasting relationships between the Louisville
area and Sister Cities around the world. For over forty years,SCL has
been highly recognized in the community as an international citizen
diplomacynetwork. Louisville's eight
Sister Cities are: MONTPELLIER,
FRANCE, QUITTO,
ECUADOR, MAINZ, GERMANY, TAMALE,
GHANA,
LA
PLATA, ARGENTINA,
PERM,
RUSSIA,
JIUJIANG, CHINA,

The University of Louisville is highly engaged with the international community. Practically all Schools and Departments offer study abroad programs and/or organize cultural activities open to the public. The Latin American and Latino Study Program is highly active and offers events on a regular basis. Check the UofL website for study and cultural activities.

The World
Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana is a
community-based, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to
providing
educational programming on international and intercultural topics
throughout
our state and community, and to fostering linkages between the people
and
institutions of Kentucky and Southern
Indiana and their counterparts throughout the
world.
