Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville Scholarships and Artisan Grants

5/8/2012 12:27:35 PM

Call for Applications

The mission of the Italian Cultural Institute is to celebrate and share Italy’s unique history and culture through educational programs and events for the community. In pursuit of this mission, the Institute is awarding scholarships and grants to worthy individuals in our region who can bring a better understanding of Italian art, history, literature, music, wine, food, or other important aspects of the culture to our community.  Recipients will be selected on the basis of their ability to benefit personally and professionally from the study of,  and exposure to, a particular aspect of Italian culture.  The recipient shall bring this experience back to our community and the membership of the Institute through a performance, body of work, or demonstration of learning in the chosen field.

In addition to the Application Form and other supporting materials, those interested will submit to the ICI Scholarship/Artisan Grant Committee  a 500 word statement of purpose which  clearly outlines the proposed project or course of study and explains  how the applicant will benefit personally, professionally  or academically from the experience.  This statement of purpose must include a description of the performance, body of work or demonstration of learning in the chosen field that the scholarship recipient will bring back to the Italian Cultural Institute, and to the community, as a result of this study experience.

A system and structure will be in place at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee to account for funds received.

The  applications will be evaluated by the ICI Scholarship Committee, and finalists will be selected and invited to continue the application process.

Application forms  may be downloaded at: http://www.icilouisville.org/BoardDocs/Scholarship%20Application%20Form.pdf
