InGrid Design, LLC Wins GLI’s Emerging Minority Business Award

October 21, 2011 (Louisville, Ky.) – Greater Louisville Inc. – the Metro Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Louisville Defender, announced the winner of its 2011 Emerging Minority Business Award at the newspaper’s Annual Business and Professional Achievement Recognition Luncheon today.

InGrid Design LLC, a graphic design firm that helps companies communicate regionally, nationally and globally to English speaking and Hispanic audiences, is the recipient of the award. President Ingrid Hernandez accepted the award on behalf of the company. InGrid Designs began in 2002 and has since worked with an array of small and large corporations including; Yum! Brands, Little Brownie Bakers (a division of Kellogg and leading Girl Scout Cookie baker), Louisville Water Company and Café Lou Lou. The company has also given back to the community by donating project work for organizations like the American Marketing Association, Sacred Heart Academy and the Hispanic Latino Business Council.

The Emerging Minority Business award recognizes local minority businesses whose focus on innovation, community engagement and growth make them an asset to our community and a role model for businesses nationwide. The winner of the award will receive a one year complimentary GLI membership, an opportunity to be recognized at a GLI Board of Directors meeting, and personalized business development consultative services from GLI’s EnterpriseCorp.

“Each year, it is with great pride that GLI honors a local business with the Emerging Minority Business Award,” said Joe Reagan, President and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc. “GLI is committed to helping make the Louisville business community both inclusive and prosperous. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to recognize these emerging businesses at the Louisville Defender’s annual event.”

GLI solicited nominations from the business community and submissions were judged by a panel of business and inclusion experts. Nineteen minority-owned businesses competed for this year’s award:
