Greater Louisville Inc. Announces Cultural Awareness Reconnaissance Tour
Trip offers unique opportunity to discover more about the potential of global commerce in India
Louisville, Ky. (10/5/11) – Greater Louisville Inc. – the Metro Chamber of Commerce has announced that India is the destination of its first Cultural Awareness Reconnaissance Tour. The trip, hosted in conjunction with Indus Travels, will offer participants the opportunity to experience nine days, March 26 to April 3, 2012, exploring the sights, lifestyle and ethos of India with stays in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.
Greater Louisville Inc. is offering the tour to India as a way to help area businesses and citizens expand their global thinking and discover more about the potential in a country with a population of more than 1.2 billion.
With U.S. investment estimated at $18 billion, India is our country’s largest trading and investment partner, and is essential to the expanding global marketplace. Additionally, India’s emphasis on the health care and technology sectors draws parallels to Kentucky’s burgeoning health care and long-term wellness and aging care industries.
“Success in today’s economic environment depends on innovative ideas and thinking beyond the traditional boundaries,” said Eileen Pickett, Executive Vice President of Community and Economic Development at Greater Louisville Inc. “More and more, companies are realizing the benefits of going global and becoming an active participant in the world economy.”
The trip will provide insights about the region, history and commerce, as well as a chance to experience its exotic attractions – from elephant rides to tours of the Taj Mahal.
