Louisville, Ky. (7-28-2011) – In a constant quest for knowledge and growth, Greater Louisville Inc. is excited to announce the details of the upcoming 2011 Greater Louisville Idea Development Expedition (GLIDE). This years experience will take place September 25 – 27, 2011 in Toronto; Canada’s economic capitol and the fifth most populous city in North America.

According to Forbes, Toronto is the tenth-most economically powerful city in the world and one of the fastest growing among the G7 nations. It is a leader in innovation and consistently rated as one of the world’s most livable cities, making it a prime venue for GLIDE participants to engage in forward thinking, breakthrough ideas and business collaboration.

The international trip is only the second in GLIDE history, allowing a unique opportunity to examine advances the city has made in education, economic development, tourism, tax policy, talent attraction, civic amenities, community branding and entrepreneurship on a global scale.

Around 150 community leaders, elected officials, entrepreneurs, education representatives and business professionals from across Greater Louisville will participate and learn about new ideas and community opportunities to expose to Greater Louisville.

Those unable to make the trip can stay connected to GLI and GLIDE news by connecting on Twitter (www.twitter.com/GLIChamber #GLIDE), Facebook (www.Facebook.com/GLIChamber) and LinkedIn. Chamber staff and members will be sharing experiences and insights throughout the trip.
