Greater Louisville Inc. today announced the winners of its prestigious Silver Fleur-De-Lis Award, which
will be delivered at GLI’s annual meeting on Tuesday, March 15. The award,
which recognizes outstanding commitments and achievements in the Greater
Louisville community, is bestowed each year upon individuals and organizations
that show leadership and action to make the region a better place to live and
work.
The 2011 recipients are Joe Steier, President and CEO of
Signature HealthCARE, and Dr. James Ramsey, President of the University of
Louisville. Both leaders have been instrumental in developing Louisville’s
bourgeoning Aging Care sector, a key area of economic growth that encompasses headquarters,
suppliers, researchers and service firms catering to the lifestyle changes of
an aging demographic. Louisville is home to the largest cluster of aging care
companies in the nation, with more than 8,000 industry professionals producing
more than $28 billion in revenue.
