GLI’s ENTERPRISECORP delivers Vogt Awards, High Impact Awards, and ICC Client of the Year Award

Louisville, Ky. (April 12, 2011) – ENTERPRISECORP, the division of Greater Louisville Inc. that specializes in developing the region’s fast-growth entrepreneurial sector, hosted its Signature Event today. The program was highlighted by a keynote address from Mayor Greg Fischer and a presentation of ENTERPRISECORP’s plans for developing the entrepreneurial sector. The event also recognized newly-selected companies to the High Impact Portfolio, announced the Vogt Award winners, and presented the ICC Client of the Year Award. The program closed with a special tribute to Mark Crane, former Executive Director of ENTERPRISECORP, who served from the organization’s inception in 2000 through 2010.

2011 GLI Annual Meeting Celebrated Innovative Spirit of Louisville

Louisville, Ky. (March 16, 2011) – Greater Louisville Inc. – The Metro Chamber of Commerce hosted its Annual Meeting last night, celebrating community innovation and achievements over the past year.
 
“GLI’s Annual Meeting gives the Greater Louisville community an opportunity to recognize the tremendous achievements that are possible in our region,” said Joe Reagan, President and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc. “A common thread throughout this year’s program was innovation and the role it plays in regional success, from traditional industries to new ventures. Louisville is on the path to become an epicenter for ideas, attracting imaginative people from around the globe. Last night’s program highlighted the success we’ve already achieved toward this goal.”
 
The program began with Louisville’s largest flash mob to date. (A flash mob is a group of people who gather at a public location to perform a surprise action, such as a coordinated dance.) James Ramsey and Joe Steier to Receive GLI Award for Achievement

Greater Louisville Inc. today announced the winners of its prestigious Silver Fleur-De-Lis Award, which will be delivered at GLI’s annual meeting on Tuesday, March 15. The award, which recognizes outstanding commitments and achievements in the Greater Louisville community, is bestowed each year upon individuals and organizations that show leadership and action to make the region a better place to live and work.

 

The 2011 recipients are Joe Steier, President and CEO of Signature HealthCARE, and Dr. James Ramsey, President of the University of Louisville. Both leaders have been instrumental in developing Louisville’s bourgeoning Aging Care sector, a key area of economic growth that encompasses headquarters, suppliers, researchers and service firms catering to the lifestyle changes of an aging demographic. Louisville is home to the largest cluster of aging care companies in the nation, with more than 8,000 industry professionals producing more than $28 billion in revenue.

Greater Louisville Inc. Receives Lumina Foundation Grant to Assist with Degree Completion for Adults

Thousands of Louisville residents who have some college credits but never earned a degree have new support in earning their credentials. Greater Louisville Inc. and the HIRE Education Forum have received an $800,000 grant from the Lumina Foundation to help regional adults complete their degrees. The grant is part of the foundation’s national strategy to support adult-learners with college credits in earning a degree or credential of value in the workplace.
