GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt to KeynoteGLI Annual Meeting

Greater Louisville Inc. – The Metro Chamber of Commerce announced today that GE Chairman and CEO, Jeff Immelt will be the keynote speaker at its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. 

Mr. Immelt has held several global leadership positions within the corporation between his start at GE in 1982 and being appointed chairman in 2001.  He is a catalyst for leadership development and job growth, which also earned him the seat as chair of President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

GE’s quest to “build, power, move and cure” has cemented its role as a vital, local stronghold as well as a global leader, living the values of innovation and long-held GLI belief that ideas create jobs.

Dear GLI Members,

As a valued member of Greater Louisville Inc., you play a vital role in helping our region achieve its vision. We as an organization appreciate your involvement and want to keep you updated on a transition at GLI.

Today, Joe Reagan, President and CEO of GLI, accepted the position of President and CEO of the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association. Effective January 26, Tracee Troutt will take over as interim President & CEO of Greater Louisville Inc. Eileen Pickett, Executive Vice President, will continue her role leading GLI’s economic development strategy. These two exceptional leaders are accompanied by a remarkably talented GLI team, who will continue to conduct business as usual advancing the Greater Louisville region.

Within the next 10 days, a search committee will begin an international search for a new CEO for Greater Louisville Inc. The committee will be chaired by GLI incoming board chair Jeff Bringardner, President of Humana-Kentucky. GLI’s current board chair Mary Pat Regan, President of AT&T – Kentucky, and immediate past chair Chuck Denny, Regional President, Kentucky-Tennessee Banking for PNC, will also assist our organization through this transition.

We are honored to have strong and dedicated members, who will play an important role through this next evolution. The candidate search will provide an exciting opportunity for growth as our region pursues its vision of becoming an idea capital for the world.

Greater Louisville Inc. Announces 2011Total Resource Campaign

Louisville, Ky. (9/29/11) – Greater Louisville Inc.’s Total Resource Campaign draws business and community leaders from around the region to volunteer their time for the annual drive to raise awareness, investments and sponsorships for the Metro Chamber.

This year’s goal is $1.7 million, which will help GLI strengthen the region through economic and community development, advocacy, enterprise development, member benefits and strategic partnerships.

The theme for the 2011campaign is “Connecting People to What’s Next: Rethink Possibility.” TRC will explore the strength of connections through inclusion and the opportunities and ideas made possible by investments in GLI.
