LOUISVILLE,KY (12-28-11) - Greater LouisvilleInc. – The Metro Chamber of Commerce announced today that GE Chairman andCEO, Jeff Immelt will be the keynote speaker at its Annual Meeting onTuesday, March 20, 2012. 

 

Mr. Immelt hasheld several global leadership positions within the corporation between hisstart at GE in 1982 and being appointed chairman in 2001.  He is a catalyst for leadership developmentand job growth, which also earned him the seat as chair of President Obama'sCouncil on Jobs and Competitiveness.

 

GE’squest to “build, power, move and cure” has cemented its role as a vital, localstronghold as well as a global leader, living the values of innovation andlong-held GLI belief that ideas create jobs.

Under Immelt, GE has reinvested in US manufacturing with aneye on the global economy and sustainability. These efforts are seen regionallywith the much-anticipated $800 million investment in Louisville’s AppliancePark and the addition of more than 1,000 jobs between 2010 and 2014. This investment is not only a redesign of product,but a transformation in production, with a focus on the importance andpermanence of manufacturing in the U.S. economy.

After February 3, 2012, the prices increase to $135 for GLI members and$155 for guests. Pricing for groups of 8 is also available.
