Bourbon Bonanza
How much would you pay for a bottle of bourbon? Wall Street Journal reporter Josh Ozersky deals with the tantalizing subject of bourbon scarcity in a March 22nd story that hails Pappy Van Winkle’s 23-Year-Old Bourbon as the “most prized bourbon in the world.” Apparently, coveted bottles of the elegant amber liquid can go for nearly $700 on the internet and as much as $100 a shot depending on where you are and who is pouring. It’s a simple case of supply and demand and sometimes the cases just aren’t there. Ozersky points to the boom in the bourbon business as a reason why a hard to get brand can become so pricey. . . .and a trophy for those who can afford it.
